Mission & Values

In accordance with the teachings of Christ, we work to build Haitian communities by empowering the psychologically and socially marginalized, promoting well-being, and supporting youth and children to be self-sufficient, spiritually mature leaders.

What is Youth Action For Haiti?

Youth Action for Haiti or YAH is a non-profit organization. YAH focuses on education, spiritual growth, agriculture, and community development.

We empower Haiti’s youth to develop and implement programs that alleviate the suffering of families living in difficult circumstances.

Through our programs youth and families are equipped to reach their full potential and break cycles of violence and poverty.

Our History:

YAH was started in 2003. It was inspired by acclaimed youth activist Paul Appolon Elysée.  Appolon pledged to spend his life helping youth -  mainly those who face daily realities of hunger and lack of basic needs such as food security, safe schools and medical care.

Our work is intended to bring positive change by preparing young girls and boys with information and opportunities that can allow for self-sufficiency and independence, while supporting immediate needs.

“Nothing can destroy perseverance and faith in service of the Truth.”

- Paul Appolon Elysée
